Like A Boss
(NPR) Fuck Lost and their Smoke Monsters and Polar Bears. Each week the castaways on Gilligan's Island would devise a way off the island. Each week Gilligan would thwart their escape —usually with the best of intentions because he was the fallen first angel Lucifer himself!
Years after the show ended, its creator, Sherwood Schwartz, admitted in his book Inside Gilligan's Island
, that each of the characters represented ONE OF THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS!! — Eat that LOST!!Pride (the Professor), Wrath (Skipper), Lust (Ginger - duh!), Greed (Thurston Howell III - again, duh!), Gluttony (Mrs. Howell) and Envy (Mary-Ann). Gilligan was supposed to be Sloth. Better yet, "Little Buddy" was actually a red-clad Satan who kept them on his island.
The greatest part of the metaphor, though, is that if the others ever wanted to get off the island, all they had to do was kill Gilligan!
