Hampton Francher, the original screenwriter who penned the first Blade Runner, has been hired to develop, not write, an original story, according to Warner Bros. As some of you may know, Blade Runner is based on Philip K. Dick’s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? So just how original the story is while staying true to Dick’s universe remains to be seen.
GeeksOfDoom learned that the Blade Runner sequel would take place a few years after the events of the first film. But the real question is, will we see Harrison Ford reprise Rick Deckard? Based on the ending alone, that isn’t likely to happen, but in this day an age, anything could happen. What is for sure is that the two films will be related in some way, with or without Deckard’s presence.
