So where do I begin... lett me preface with: Halo is a flawed FPS and fluke franchise. And as I watched this, it felt like I was in a rehash of The Animatrix- which I really like- the entire formula was duplicated. The history tale in the beginning, the stories from the past right on up to what's happening in the present. I mean they even got one of the same animation houses, Studio 4c as well as Warner Bros. to distribute. Really?!
Divided into 7 episodes, with reportedly another 7 in production, it does give a good in-sight to the past of the Halo universe whether your hard core or a semi-fan like me.
But on the good side of the coin; the animation styles are gorgeous. This movie has began to master the 3-dimensional traditional animation style that started with Ghost in the Shell (I have a crush on Major Motoko Kusanagi) and Akira. As an animation snob, my favorite episodes on the dvd were "The Prototype" and "The Babysitter" solely because of how clean and fluid the visuals are and the strength of the character designs. The dvd also continues right after Halo 3 and sets it up for a Halo 4; rumored to be titled
Halo: Forerunner. gettit- four runner?!
*womp-womp*
