Hollywood getts a holduv niggas and chews them hoes up good! Benizio Del Toro is anorexic like a muthafucka! Maybe he's fixin' to audition for Skeletor with no makeup on the He-Man remake!?
Now I like the fact that they kept to the Lon Chaney, jr Wolfman look, but not the fact that Anthony Hopkins is on here playing the role of Lord Talbot, Del Toro's Lawrence's father. In Dracula, he was suppossed to be Van Helsing; so why didn't he play the same role in this one? Oh well. He brought some Hannibal Lecter to this shoot fersure!
But at least the movie hits the ground runnin'! Del Toro comes back to England after the death of his younger brother by an "animal" attack, stays because he thinks a lunatic killed'em and ends up getting jacked a another wolfman who turned out to be his own father who had killed the brother AND Lawrence's mother when he was a kid!! Deeamn! Family values right there, boy! The dad was tryin' all along to make Lawrence a little cuckoo to make him a mean ass wolfman!
Then the gottdamn wolfman transformation look so damn painful! Looked like the old American Werewolf in London one, times 3! Had me cringin' with shivers over the sounds of the bone cracking and readjusting into animal hinds and wolf paws. And the look on his face was like he really had his balls in a vise. The make up was dope too, far as I could tell the transformation and some random wall jumps were the only cgi effects. If this don't win best special effect make up, I call shenanigans!
Now, the problem I have with this movie, is every scene otherwise that doesn't have the wolfman or Hopkins on screen! Fuckin-A, Del Toro is a lame! He's really suppossed to be a good actor?! This movie went so damn slow, thank God it's only an hour and a half long.
If you ain't seen it yet, wait to buy it on dvd. It's worth a trip to Target to copp it for $15, not a movie night spendin' $50. There's a lot more movies over the next few weeks comin' out-
7.75 outta 10
I liked it, but I'm warnin' you not to waste your time and dough at the theatres for it
